At St. Charles UMC, We Have a Passion for Mission Work!

And we hope that you'll help us spread the love of Christ!

Matthew 25:35-36: "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."

We try to offer a wide variety of Missions programs and projects as opportunities to serve others in a coordinated, group setting. We know that no one will be able to take advantage of all opportunities; however, by supporting or participating in any of these programs, we think you’ll receive much more than what you’ve put into it. Not only will you make a real and tangible difference in someone’s life, but you’ll be enriched – and humbled – by the experience as you further your Christian walk.

St Charles partners with St Marks UMC on N. Rampart Street to provide a hot lunch to its largely homeless membership and the nearby community on a quarterly basis. Volunteers cook a lunch, bring it to St Marks on Sunday morning, attend worship with them and then serve a hot lunch to very appreciative recipients. Most times we serve nearly 100 people. There is a great need for this ministry and those who have served before will tell anyone it is real blessing to serve God and their fellow man. There are sign-up sheets and a leader for each outing and we leave about 8:30am from church. Our service dates for next year are as follows:

Each month we highlight a different mission of the church for information and education of our members. This is also used for promotion of trips, programs and fundraising for the focus mission. There will be one Sun. each month especially devoted to each mission. Our monthly topics are as follows:

Jan. - One Great Hour of Sharing

Feb. - Park Temple Iglesia (our sister church in Cuba)

March - Grace Camp

April - The Oromo Project, Missionaries John & Kay McNally

May - Love-A-Child (orphanage in Haiti)

June - mission concerns and projects in our area

July - Camarroon and Senegal

August - Cambodia

Oct. - Kairos Prison Ministry
