Welcome to St Charles United Methodist Church

1905 Ormond Blvd Destrehan, LA 985-764-8292

If you are looking for a church home where you can make new friends and visit with old ones; a place where you can use your talents and abilities to serve one another; a place where you can find out just how much God loves you; then St. Charles United Methodist Church is what you have been looking for. We are a friendly, diverse and very casual congregation where you will fit in, no matter who you are and where you have been. Join us at one of our morning worship services with excellent music and relevant preaching and where we are glad to provide a professional and caring nursery for all our worship services.

Sunday Worship Services

Normally, the church provides two church services every Sunday. The contemporary service is at 8:30 am and the  traditional service with choir is at 11:00 am. In between these two services we hold Sunday school for children and adults starting at 9:45 am. In addition to the nursery for infants, we hold a church school for the smaller children. Bring your preschoolers to the service with you and after the children's sermon they will be escorted to class.

Dress varies widely from wearing jeans to suits. On the first Sunday of each month we usually hold our Communion service. All believers in Christ are invited to take Communion.

Reminder that "I Can Sunday" is this Sunday!! Please bring your food for the Pantry or make a donation to the Food Pantry/Social Concerns.

Also we need help getting the word out about our 9.11k Walk-Run-Bike.....

Please pass the attached flyers out and let me know if you can help with anything.
Attached is a flyer for a 9.11 K Fun Walk-Run-Bike and Food collection for the Pantry!! This is a last minute idea that was born when Jonathan, my son, who is working on Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan challenged me. He is walking in a 9.11k on base to remember 9/11. He suggested that we should do the same. It began as our family dressing up in red, white and blue and walking to friends wanting to join us and now who knows!! Please spread the word. Also please encourage people participating to e-mail me or drop the form off at the office so that we have some idea of how many will be there. We do have a permit and we will have officers to help us out.

We would love to have service units walk with us such as scouts, ROTC's, fire department, police, military, ... Feel free to e-mail anyone you know that may be interested.

We will need some help:
  •      Help to register before the walk at the church
  •      Small flags are needed to hand out to the walkers - Someone from church is donating these!!
  •      Water is needed for the middle and end of the walk
  •      Snacks are needed at the end of the walk - chips or cookies...
  •     Someone to set up a water station at the middle of the walk
  •     Someone to lead the pledge before the walk
  •     Someone to lead the Star Spangled Banner before the walk
  •     Portable music at the church parking lot and maybe at the turn around point
  •     Something to collect the food in at the walk (55 gallon drum?)
  •     People and Places to hang or pass out flyers
  •     Anything else I am forgetting!!
